Team Progressions

Help agents grow with clear milestones and stage-specific support.

Team Progressions lay out the path to success for every team member following a structured, in-product journey that guides their path from aspiring life insurance agent to $1M+ producer.

By aligning each user with one of 11 growth stages—from “New” to “Net Licensed” and beyond—you can deliver the right expectations, coaching, and tools exactly when they’re needed.

How it works

Each team member is automatically assigned a Team Member Stage based on their activity, earnings, or admin input. Their stage determines:

  • 🏠 What they see on the home page
(e.g. onboarding checklists for new users, production dashboards for individual producers, and team-building dashboards for builders)

  • 🎯 What goals they’re working toward
(e.g. hitting Net License, getting promoted to Certified Trainer)

  • 📚 What support content they get
(e.g. field training scripts, recruiting tips, compensation explainers)

As users progress through Stages, expectations are clear—helping them focus on what matters most.

Recruiting Lead Stages: From Contact to Team Member

Your Team Progression starts with the Lead pipeline for Recruits and includes five early stages:

Stage

Description

New

You’ve identified a lead, but haven’t contacted them yet

Working

Outreach, research and profiling has started

Appointment Set

A meeting is scheduled

Appointment Done

The meeting happened—notes should be added

Converted

The lead agrees to join your Team and completes Agency registration.

Converted Recruiting leads become Team Members, and that’s when a individual Team Member profile is created.

Example 1: Home Page for Onboarding Stage

New team members land on a simplified home page with a crystal-clear next step: finish their onboarding checklists.

"I knew exactly what I had to do next. The checklist walked me through getting licensed and booking my first appointments—without feeling overwhelmed.” — New Agent

Example 2: Home Page for Licensed Producer

Licensed producers land on a home page with a focus on production showing lead metrics, pre-sales appointments, case tracking, and payout visibility.

“The dashboard gave me a real sense of pre-sales momentum. I could see what I had going into underwriting and follow apps through to close and payout” — Individual Producer

Example 3: Home Page for Team Builder

Unlock leadership tools that make it easy to build a team or organization of any size and coach individually, by the numbers. With Taproots, Builders can drill into each team member’s business—seeing production pipeline and team building stats for a quick complete view of each team or individual's business.

“As I started mentoring others, WealthSmyth showed me who needed help and when. That made it way easier to be a good coach—and grow my income.” — Certified Trainer

Taproots: Build Deep, Not Just Wide

WealthSmyth includes a feature called Taproots—a powerful tool for building your team strategically. With Taproots, you’ll visualize your team and can quickly drill down to see their business comprehensively for more productive coaching conversations tailored to each person, based on their stage of development.

Taprooting is the process of identifying a strong or promising team member and helping them grow their own team by focusing your efforts directly beneath them. Instead of spreading your support widely, you go “deep” by building a straight line of active, productive agents under that person. This creates stability, drives momentum, and helps lock in that leader by surrounding them with success.

Why go deep?

  • Depth creates stability

  • Overrides accumulate

  • You help leaders emerge by building beneath them

Why it matters

The Team Member Progressions turns ambiguity into action. Instead of generic onboarding or disconnected dashboards, every user sees a personalized journey—and knows exactly what comes next.

That means:

  • Less confusion for new agents

  • More accountability and structure for leaders

  • Higher engagement and retention across the board
